With 81% of Americans now owning a smartphone, more people than ever have the power to access the internet right in their pocket. Naturally, increased access to the internet has led to increased use. Now, 9 out of 10 American adults use the internet.
People are spending their time online connecting on social media, reading the news, shopping and, you got it, looking for hair salons, restaurants, roofers, dentists and other small businesses.
In the good ol’ days, having a small business website was nice but not absolutely necessary. It was like the icing on the cake to a small business’s brick and mortar location and/or traditional advertising. But, those days are gone.
People aren’t looking for businesses in the Yellow Pages anymore. They’re looking online, and if you want to earn their business, you need to be there when they do.
Suffice it to say, having a small business website is no longer negotiable.
